Personal Perspective.

I was introduced on a more personal level on how to choose a coffee bean that came down to a lesson learnt in the Adelaide Central Market many years ago. I was looking at the myriad of beans in front of me behind the massive glass counter wrapping around the front of the stall.

I had no Idea of what to choose and in chatting with the very helpful staff one reached over the high counter and handed me a coffee bean from their selection and said to me ” Well just bite it and that’s the flavour you’re going to get!” It was so true, as I was allowed to try a few different ones I went home happy with a new 1kg bag of ground coffee to enjoy!

So, if your coffee shop that is open to it, try asking for a single bean from what they have available if its on display. If its possible then I recommend giving it a go. Yes, I understand not all shops are going to have the time or they may not have lots of coffee beans on display but a market environment as the Adelaide Market it was very helpful and gave me a memorable experience, I have some carried with me for 35 years! The old shop may have changed from so many years ago so here is the current one that spurred this memory.
